Must-Do’s for Oxford, Mississippi?

Hello friends!

At the end of this month the hubby and I are headed to Oxford, Mississippi to watch a our dear friends get married. I’ve never been to the South before, and I’m really excited for the experience. I’m already overwhelmed by the number of invitations we’ve received for the many wedding festivities taking place, and we’re packing up just about every fancy outfit we have (let’s just say Coloradans aren’t really known for their fashion…unless it’s made from rip-stop and high-performance fleece, we’re not interested).

So, have you been to Oxford before? Are there any must-do’s? Any great shops? Wonderful places to eat? Local, authentic stuff we need to check out? Leave a comment and please let me know!

i dont know anything about Oxford but you will be passing by some points of civil rights history. Here (goo.gl/LPQZw) is the blog of a Freedom Ride class currently going through some of that area, taught by a professor who is pretty interesting. The civil right museums in Memphis and Birmingham are certainly worthwhile. Cozy Corner bbq in Memphis is pretty great too
